Connecticut Global Fuel Cell Center

The Fuel Cell Center Building, a state-of-the-art 16,000 sq. ft. facility, is located on the University of Connecticut Depot Campus just five minutes from the main Storrs campus. Design and construction of the building were subsidized

through a $2 million grant from the U.S. Department of Commerce Economic Development Authority paired with matching funds of $670,000 from the University of Connecticut. The building offers an ideal combination of flexible and functional space geared to meet the objectives of research, education and commercialization. Additional information follows:

General Directions to the Fuel Cell Institute at the Depot Campus:

From Interstate 84 and points east, north & west, take exit 68 to Route 195 south. Follow Route 195 south approximately 6 miles until you reach the intersection with Route 44. At this light take a right and follow Route 44 west for 2 miles. The Weaver Road entrance is the second entrance on your left into the Depot Campus. Follow Weaver Road back and to your right, the Institute will be the tan building with green roof on your right. (highlighted on your map). Turn right onto Walters Road, followed immediately by another right, this will bring you to visitors parking and the main entrance.

From points south, take Route 32 north to Route 195 north, pass the main campus. At the intersection with Route 44, turn left and follow Route 44 west for 2 miles. The Weaver Road entrance is the second entrance on your left into the Depot Campus. Follow Weaver Road back and to your right, the Institute will be the tan building with green roof on your right. (highlighted on your map). Turn right onto Walters Road, followed immediately by another right, this will bring you to visitors parking and the main entrance.

From the main Storrs campus locate North Eagleville Road. Travel west on North Eagleville past the Fire Station until you come to a stop sign. Take a right at the stop sign onto Hunting Lodge Road. Follow Hunting Lodge Road to the end (1.1miles). At the stop sign take a left onto Birch Road and follow that for approximately 0.7 miles. The main portion of the road will veer to the right, but continue straight onto Weaver Road and the Depot Campus. Drive past the Mansfield Building (on your left), the Kennedy building (on your right) and directly in front of you will be the Fuel Cell Institute (highlighted on your map). It is a tan building with a green roof. Turn left onto Walters Road, followed immediately by a right, this will bring you to visitors parking and the main entrance.

Traveling east on Route 44, drive through the intersection with Route 32, past the traffic light and take the next right onto Weaver Road. Follow Weaver Road back and to your right the Institute will be the tan building with green roof on your right. (highlighted on your map). Turn right onto Walters Road, followed immediately by another right, this will bring you to visitors parking and the main entrance.
